It’s Sunday morning and your sources have produced almost nothing worth covering. The issue still goes out on its usual day, and right now your story list has four items.
You still owe your readers a full issue. The industry went quiet, so the material in front of you is two solid stories and a handful of marginal ones. Padding the marginal ones into full sections is the obvious move, and it is the one readers notice, because a stretched write-up reads stretched. Sending four sections instead of seven feels like admitting the week beat you. Whatever you choose goes into the archive with your name on it.
With HeyNews, you can fix this easily. Open Compose and pick your AI Writer. Compose starts with Stories published since that writer's last Draft, and when the window runs thin, HeyNews widens the range automatically before you touch the filters. To reach further back yourself, choose another preset or set a custom rolling window from the date menu.
Then click Select Best. Smart Select picks up to the story count you set for each section, and when no Story fits a section, it leaves that space open instead of adding an unrelated one. Each section carries its own Story limit, so the ceiling holds on a busy week and a quiet one.
Write the draft. Generation continues in the background if you navigate away and the result auto-saves to Issues. HeyNews notifies you when it is ready. Copy the finished issue, subject line, and preview text into the email platform you send from.
Picture the same quiet week twice. In the first version, you stretch three marginal stories into full sections. The issue hits its usual length and the stretch shows in every paragraph. In the second version, two sections run at two stories each and one section stays out entirely. Every item that made it in earned its place. The second issue is shorter, and it reads deliberate. A per-section limit gives a bad week that shape: the issue shrinks where the week shrank, and nowhere else.
So far, a thin week has produced a thin issue no matter what you ran it through. Story count per section sets each section's ceiling, and the AI Writer uses fewer stories when the material does not support a section.
